Who’s in charge? – Accountability and the Sustainable Development Goals

Who should be held accountable for our common, sustainable future? Which ethical issues, normative challenges, power-balance concerns as well as practical implications related to Accountability and the Sustainable Development Goals need to be highlighted?

Across the world, governments, companies, civil society organisations, universities, and individuals are engaged in the challenging work to reach the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals within the coming 10 years. - But who's responsible for creating a sustainable society? - What role does accountability play in sustainability reporting and assessment? - And does a lack of accountability hinder the possibilities of reaching the Sustainable Development Goals? Representatives from the private, public, academic and non-governmental sector discuss the role of accountability in relation to sustainability and how efforts from the past can help us map out a more sustainable future.
