Sweden could lead the fight against climate change - so why won't we?
The need for rapid global decarbonization of the economy to prevent a climate catastrophe is well known. We also know that enormous amounts of quickly scalable cheap, clean electricity will be required to do this.
Utökad information om evenemangetHowever, the impracticality of 100% renewables to reach the goal is not universally accepted. The proven potential to do so with nuclear power remains controversial. This seminar will provide a vision of a world in 2050 amply powered by cheap, clean electricity (leading to climate stability, poverty reduction, health) and explore the role of Sweden in the clean energy revolution (from one American's perspective). Professor Joshua Goldstein, US, co-author of Klimatnyckeln, explores how Sweden may hold an essential key to saving the world from a climate catastrophe. Comments from and discussions with various Swedish scientists and policymakers will ensue.
