How does the perfect strategy for the new Swedish research facilities look?
Sweden has invested many billions in MAX IV and ESS. They enable excellent research that will make a significant contribution to society. But there is no comprehensive national strategy for maximized returns and for long-term financing. How do we take joint responsibility for this?
Utökad information om evenemangetSweden hosts the world-leading synchrotron, MAX IV, and the world-leading neutron spallation source, ESS. The responsibility of making the most of these remarkable investments must be shared by the government, the facilities and the Swedish universities and Swedish industry in need of excellent research tools. This entails not only a comprehensive strategy to stimulate the use of the facilities, attract international competence and boost the Swedish research and innovation arena but also securing long-term funding to be able to operate, develop and upgrade the facilities. The panel will discuss the possibilities and challenges the facilities bring. We welcome the audience, on-site and online, to ask questions to the panel.
