Relations between the West and Russia are strained and it is evidently exposed among other things, by how Russian media reports on the Nordic countries - and how Nordic media reports on Russia. The tone is geared and sheared, inaccuracies are not rare.
Utökad information om evenemangetIssues asked in the debate include: How does reporting affect our perceptions about each other and would there be any need for more nuances and other perspectives? The starting point for the debate is a study that the Nordic Journalist Center NJC in Aarhus, Denmark has done. In 2018, NJC analyzed 1852 articles and TV news elements in 42 major news media in the Nordic and North-West Russia to investigate how the reporting looked.
